One last followup on the trends of CES '09, last time we checked about 20% of you were at least thinking about grabbing a new HDTV with internet features last year. Of course, that was before VIZIO's XVT 55-inch was delayed and we were slightly disappointed by the widget performance on Samsung's LED model and desires cooled off a bit. So, how many of you are currently watching the conference championships on screens with Ethernet or WiFi hookups embedded in them? Anyone actually tweeting or pulling in Facebook updates via their remote? According to what we saw this year, televisions acting as embedded platforms for more services is a trend that will keep growing, but how is it working out so far?

While last year's CES darling -- widget HDTVs --has expanded into full blown app stores built into every display or set-top box around, there's no question that the big news in Las Vegas in 2010 was 3D. Details on prices and exact shipping dates are still at best, sketchy, but we put our eyes into enough shutter glasses to last us until 2011. So, here's this year's question: are you ready to upgrade your HDTV for a World Cup, Avatar or BCS National Championship Game ready 3DTV? Or are you more inclined to wait for more content / lower prices before jumping in? Finally we can't forget those who never intend to buy a 3D ready setup and are perfectly happy with things the two dimensional way they've always been. First Warner, now Disney, we're wondering if any of you are actually interested in any of these DVD trade in programs? Besides the issues of availability & selection there's whether or not you get to keep your old discs, and the simple hassle of participating. Still, clearly the studios think there's a market for these programs to get people jumping into Blu-ray discs and players, so let us know, are you biting?

According to the National Retail Federation, 29 percent of Black Friday shoppers visited electronics stores and some of the hottest items were those that are near and dear to our heart like HDTVs and Blu-ray players. So we wonder what you might have bought on Black Friday. Personally we wouldn't be found dead near any store on Thanksgiving weekend -- and generally avoid retail stores for the month of December -- but then again it shouldn't be much of a surprise that we do most of our shopping online.

Blu-ray players aren't the only deal going this weekend (check out our Black Friday roundups for more) but the fabled Blu-ray player for less than a hundred bucks is making an appearance at multiple stores this weekend so we've just got to know, will you be buying one? While Amazon and Newegg dole out LG BD270 players for around $99, Meijer has a Sylvania model for $89 and Wal-mart brings an $80 Magnavox NB500MG1F, matched by hhgregg's $80 Toshiba offer. Not cheap enough yet? onSale.com has refurbed Magnavox's for a mere $70, although with all of these you'll be missing out on some features from the higher priced players. but even the thriftiest among us can grab a Netflix streaming, BD-Live ready Insignia NS-BRDVD3 from Best Buy for a penny under a Benjamin, so what's your excuse going to be?

Just how far audiophiles will go to experience sensory nirvana -- and whether it's all in their mind or in their ears -- is a subject that can be discussed forever, but for now we'll try to break down just how much it means to you. We know the vast majority of the Engadget HD community is already surround sound equipped, but how far do you go to get the absolute top notch experience? The ratings are in and ABC's V was the highest rated series premier this season with a rating of 5.0, a 13 share which equals 13.9 million viewers. Of course this doesn't mean that many actually liked it and since we were pretty split here at Engadget HD, we wanted to know what you thought of this new Si-Fi show.

With Christmas right around the corner and the CEA predicting that consumers will spend more on electronics this year then last, we have to wonder what our dear readers think is the best Blu-ray player. Of course the PS3 is the most obvious answer since it pulls double duty as a gaming device, but movie lovers might prefer a standalone with other streaming features like VUDU or Netflix. At the same time, home automation nuts might prefer a player with discrete IR codes or maybe an RS-232 port. So keeping everything include the price in mind, which is the best Blu-ray player?

With Blu-ray disc adoption continuing to grow, we're wondering if your buying habits have changed. Last year Amazon ran away with the results, but it's 2009 now, Wal-mart has expanded its focus on Blu-ray (even nabbing the exclusive on TDK-style IMAX scenes for the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen release next week), Circuit City no longer exists and that weird guy in the white panel van even has a much better selection than he used to. So, where are you buying Blu-ray movies?

Blame Christmas Creep (© Tuesday Morning Quarterback), but we're already getting our Black Friday (R.I. P. KURO Friday) attack plan laid out. With prices diving and features spreading on Blu-ray players, receivers, LCDs and plasmas -- remember when a $1,000 42-inch 1024x768 plasma was a big deal? -- we figure you must have an idea of a big ticket item getting replaced in the next few months. Poll choices are for which component is getting added/swapped out sooner rather than later, let us know what product you're waiting for a price drop on in the comments.

The technology exists, or will soon, the only question is how or if it should be used. We know it won't require a huge stretch for your provider to deliver 1080p broadcasts, and CableLabs is right in step with others trying to figure out how to bring 3D home, but as a viewer which one would you rather see? Let's be clear right up front, we're not asking you how much you want to pay because we already know the answer; as little as possible. We want to know, what is the most you would pay. Now before you answer, lets put this into perspective. A dual tuner TiVo HD costs $300 at retail (plus subscription), a Moxi is $800 and the old ATI single CableCARD tuners were $300 -- so unlike the Ceton tuner, you'd have to rent four CableCARDs instead of just one. So keeping all that in mind, what is the most you'd pay for a single PCI-E card that could turn your Windows 7 PC and Xbox 360 into the best premium content HD DVR today?

According to a recent Nielsen report, 57 percent of US internet users reported that they've surfed the internet while watching TV. This sounds spot on to us, because we do it all the time. In fact we surf almost constantly while watching football to keep up with stats and fantasy teams, and have even been known to look up a forgotten character on Lostpedia while watching our favorite show. So are you as bad as us and record shows that you plan to playback while you have your laptop with you on the couch, or are we just weird. In the interest of full disclosure, this post was written in a room with no TV and was not influenced by any HD programming.

Finally, it's official and in our hands for a review. Now you decide, with the addition of HDMI-CEC, bitstreaming for the latest codecs, and in a quieter smaller case (although it might be a little slower loading, for now) the PlayStation 3 Slim is better and cheaper than ever for your home theater. So let us know, is that enough to get you to purchase one?
