Netflix hints at Watch Instantly integration on 'already-popular device' {Engadget HD}
Oct 25th 2009 1:44AM seems everybody is thinking pc but Im with you.... I dont see the ps3 having the "install base" (esp in the states) that netflix would be alluding to. Directv seems like a more logical choice to me. But I don't know if it has the right kind of codec support (since netflix runs under silverlight)
Rumor: Eight minutes of footage of the Xbox's Sky Player {Joystiq}
Oct 23rd 2009 3:47PM That looks awesome.... hopefully we see MS partner with one of the content providers here in the states to bring us that stuff.

Starz launching 5 new HD channels next year {Engadget HD}
Oct 21st 2009 11:12AM agreed.... all I want from starz is to give netflix hd sources.
Halo Waypoint detailed, captured on video {Joystiq}
Oct 19th 2009 2:18PM This is much different than I thought it was going to be.... I was more expecting something that looked like nxe and fit in with that system so it was "always" online. this looks alot like a whole game that has to be launched everytime you want to access it.
Xbox 360 update to add Music Games Store, news section {Joystiq}
Oct 19th 2009 11:55AM I actually am beginning to prefer the xbl apps way to have internet on the TV than a real web browser.... Its the same thing as the mobile apps work better than browsing the web on your phone. You dont get access to as many sites but what you do get works far better than the web version.
How would you change Microsoft's Zune HD? {Engadget}
Oct 10th 2009 12:20AM I would have liked to see a phone (but thats been said already).
I would have wanted an optional addon controller so we could get decent control systems with these games (touch screen and accelerometer works for some things but not most)
It really needs a difference maker app.... netflix would be a very good example. In fact MS should just straight buy netflix and bring them under the 1080p smooth streaming umbrella but keep them separate so they can negotiate good deals with the content providers. (but have them be natively in all ms products... media center, zune, xbox, windows 7, windows mobile)
Blu-ray outpacing DVD adoption, will never reach its penetration {Engadget HD}
Oct 6th 2009 11:18PM Im guessing you are the one who has never spent any serious time with netflix streaming.... because blocking is very rare on most netflix content (and it certainly doesnt bother me knowing the far better experience I get with netflix having thousands of movies at all times and have it updated every week).
Blu-ray outpacing DVD adoption, will never reach its penetration {Engadget HD}
Oct 6th 2009 6:15PM Im the exact opposite.... I actually prefer the experience over quality. I actually cant wait until netflix streaming completely negates the need for bluray. I actually want to pay them more to get day and date releases for movies and sell everything bluray I own. Bluray has been probably the worst format Ive ever owned (from the experience perspective.... movies not working, constant updates, menu systems that are useless, etc) and netflix streaming (what little they have) has probably been the best ever in terms of the experience.
IMO the added bluray quality only really matters for a small percentage of movies (maybe 5% of all movies) so I have no problem accepting lower perceived quality on a few movies to get a drastically better experience.
