Are DVRs actually going to save the network TV model? {Engadget HD}
Nov 2nd 2009 8:58PM Listen to yourself, If 2 seasons of the show were gone than it would be a good show.
One third of what came before got a thumbs up from you it sounds like, and this season, personally I'm not even watching it.
I do know that someone came back and did a lot of work the last 5-6 episodes of season 3 to sew up the continuity of the Universe. That being said it means that instead of having a show, you had a patch up job for the last 5+ episodes last season( And yeah, I did watch that).
Given the popularity of the show and the likely profits of season 1, you'd think they could get some writers in that could craft a timeline and make a to do list for relationships that would grow the show.
Hell, I could get 5 college students that don't even like the genre and still come away with a decent timeline with a "Where will this character be" for every character in like 15 hours.
They failed. They may not be failing as much, and the memory of when they didn't fail may be strong, but they still failed.
Do what you want, but I am not so forgiving, and there are many shows out there more worthy of time than Heroes.
P.S. Did I mention they killed a bunch of Hot Brunettes? Wrong I tell you, it's just Wrong!

Nov 2nd 2009 7:43PM The potential of Heroes was Soooo great.
It is just pathetic how bad the universe level writing for that show is, given the blank slate they had to work with.
Then they set most of the characters up in a no growth through relationships scenario, which let's face it, is what makes the long haul in a series worth it and keeps people watching.
Oh, and the final straw, they killed off pretty much every hot brunette that was on the show... Eden(Nora Zehetner), Heidi Petrelli(Rena Sofer), Candy(Missy Peregrym), and there's probably more that were small characters I can't remember that were hot brunettes that some female blonde writer on the show had killed, and probably tortured too.
Poll: Where do you buy your Blu-ray discs now, if you buy them at all? {Engadget HD}
Oct 20th 2009 8:17PM My point was you are blowing out of proportion ( much as you did my reply.) the cost of buying those DVDs.
3000 dollars over 10+ years for items that can be resold is not as bad as you painted it, and you also got the convenience for that price as well.

Poll: Where do you buy your Blu-ray discs now, if you buy them at all? {Engadget HD}
Oct 19th 2009 8:40PM You better brew your own coffee and carry it around in a thermos all day getting cups when you want, cause you have easily spent that much on vente americanos in the last how many ever years it took to buy those DVDs.
Convenience has a cost, Buck up!
Also, it's likely if you actually did an annual budget you'd find that 3000 dollars isn't even a quarter of your yearly entertainment money, let alone 10-15 years that you've been collecting up all those DVDs.

Sep 10th 2009 9:24PM Yeah, Displayname might be another good example of what to call the name shown in game in chat after the @ symbol.
Though not quick and easy to change you can submit a ticket to get your Displayname changed. This name is also the one shown when you post on forums.
However, it was one of the great points about the system that the reviewer made, no enemy making another character to sneak up and bug/stalk/whatever you. Once someone is Ignored, they would have to go to the trouble of starting a whole new account to be able to even chat with you.
Surprisingly, cheaper Blu-ray movies make everyone happy {Engadget HD}
Aug 31st 2009 8:23PM Yeah, even just above 20 dollars is good enough, prices they are a rising, and they aren't going to fall.
The industries see this as a great excuse to raise prices/further shrink package sizes and even after this is over they'll stay the same to cover the time they will have to wait to noticeably reduce package size or increase prices again.
I personally live in reality; I noticed the Mayo jar shrink, the center of the toilet paper roll grow and now the infamous "Double Roll" of toilet paper that is really just barely bigger than the rolls we had 15+ years ago.
It's the reason most DVD releases are just under 20 dollars unless it's a special reduction.
2 movie tickets used to be 15 dollars, now they are 20. I don't have a problem with the take home forever movie experience being so much better now than it was when tickets were 15 dollars, costing a few dollars more.

Aug 25th 2009 10:48PM Well, This Offer was announced and Available August 4th.
Though the Original time window was 4 weeks, due to the "limited supplies" they ran out at basically 3 weeks.
I understand people wanting to wait for the BETA to figure out if they want to play, but then, as many have, saying they were also waiting for payday later in the week, well, if you are failing to plan, you are planning to fail.
You had weeks to think and plan if the amount of money was an issue. I'm sure next time you'll see Massive bold letter screaming "LIMITED SUPPLIES! VERY LIMITED!"

Aug 17th 2009 8:11PM One could argue it makes perfect sense for that very reason.
They sell HDDs, you need one for this Unit, and now you can't complain about the size that comes with the unit since one doesn't come with the unit. (Pst...it lowers the price too.)
Course, you still found something to complain about :)
