VOOM HD gear goes up for auction {Engadget HD}
May 23rd 2009 1:33AM this actually makes me more sad than anything i've read about HD in a while. my favorite times of having HD on my TV were when Dish still had Voom and i could hit a weekend with nothing to do and just sit and watch Monsters HD for hours on end. i LOVED that network. it will go down in history as my favorite TV station ever. i was sad when Dish cut Voom, and i am sadder now that they the network is gone in every other way with no chance of a return.
Netflix Blu-ray movies showing up cracked and unplayable? {Engadget HD}
Apr 19th 2009 2:11PM my wife and i have Blockbuster Online which we rent Blurays from, and we have never had an issue with a movie we couldn't play. we've been with them for about a year and have rented close to 100 Blurays without ever receiving one that we had any issues with at all. plus, we don't pay a "Bluray premium" and can trade in discs at a local store. here's hoping Blockbuster at least stays in business enough to keep the Online part going, because we have been nothing but happy.
