Sony's Kaz Hirai confirms 'premium level' subscription coming to PSN {Engadget}
Nov 23rd 2009 2:22PM If they try to charge me and I'm not getting at least the amount of feature XBL member get, then I won't pay for it. In fact, I'd probably go buy a 360 at that point...I've been toying with that thought anyways since most of my friends play on XBL.

congrats! but I never said anything about lying to my friends. Too tired to go out and too tired to play video games are two completely different things.
@Packy17
I know you can turn it off...which is why I'll never turn it on...which is why this update is pretty much pointless to me...which is why I'm disappointed this round of updates. That's all.

Nov 18th 2009 11:37AM hahahahaha....my thoughts exactly! At this point, gaming is more of a guilty pleasure than something I want to brag about.
"Wow, for someone who was too tired to come out last night, you sure did earn a lot of pointless gaming trophies..."
No, thanks!

Love the David Cross reference...one of the best out there!
Sony's VAIO Bluetooth Laser Mouse pictured in the wild, almost as ugly as last week's OpenOfficeMouse {Engadget}
Nov 13th 2009 11:39AM Pretty bad, isn't it? When a company is usually known for it's beautiful design, crap like this stands out like a sore thumb. I'm not sure who they let design this pile, but move him/her back to the cubicle in the basement...
AT&T adds Verizon's Island of Misfit Toys holiday ads to lawsuit, demands they be yanked off the air {Engadget}
Nov 12th 2009 2:59PM When people pay for a smart phone and data plan, I would wager they're expecting to be able to stream videos, download content, etc. Can you do this without 3G coverage? Probably. Would you wait all that time while it downloaded? I know I wouldn't and I'd be pissed that they sold me a phone based on those features and I can't reliably use them. Of course they did it as a map! How would you show data coverage in the US without using a map? So you're argument is that it's wrong for them to intentionally point out dead spots in their 3G coverage?

Nov 12th 2009 2:27PM You're right, you'll have coverage in those white areas...coverage so slow that no sane person would bother streaming video or any other bandwidth-intensive action in those areas (i.e. "properly use the internet on the go"). However, the map in the commercial clearly says 3G coverage and in those white areas, there is none. You're not using your all of your fancy new iphone's features if you're living in one of those white areas. I don't see the problem with these ads other than AT&T trying to sweep attention to their spotty data service under the rug.
