Apr 1st 2009 3:13PM Mac Mini has no digital cable tuners that I know of. No Blu-ray. No HDMI. Does it have IR remote support? Does it have an integrated TV guide?
HTPCs are definitely a niche market. No for everyone.

Apr 1st 2009 2:39PM That's nice, but Sony offers the VGX-TP25E/B for only $1699 right now. And it includes 2 ATI Digital Cable Tuners, wireless keyboard, remote, and the specs are better.

I got one last week. HTPCs are great to reduce the number of boxes connected to the TV. The downside is cable's use of SDV.
