Engadget's Black Friday giveaway, part ten: win an HP Envy 15! {Engadget}

Nov 27th 2009 6:32PM I promise to compare it with my MacBook!

It's about time: TomTom submits updated nav app to Apple {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Nov 13th 2009 11:52AM I have a number of questions about the Google Navigation app... Has it been developed yet? If not, when will it be finished? Has it been submitted to Apple for approval? Will it have to wait for an iPhone OS update (since Google Maps is part of the iPhone OS package)? All I've heard so far is that Google wants to bring it to the iPhone, but basically I have no idea of the timeframe we are talking about...

Parallels Desktop 5 ships with a host of new and improved features {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Nov 4th 2009 1:31PM Well, Parallels 5 runs a lot faster than Fusion 3 on my Mac, and Coherence seems to work a lot better than Unity does (no weird artifacts, etc...) Aero also runs plenty fast - I think in this round, Parallels will get my money.

VMware Fusion 3 supercharged for Snow Leopard {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 6th 2009 11:55AM I want to like Fusion as it cheaper than Parallels and made here in the good old USA, but the latest Parallels beta is way, way, way faster than Fusion on my Mac (I get a 4.4 experience rating on Windows 7!), and their coherence mode works a lot better than Unity. I am going to wait until Paralells has their latest release out and then upgrade to one or the other... but I think Parallels will win.

EyeTV app for iPhone released {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 30th 2009 12:02PM I have an Airport Extreme, and was able to watch Live TV from my home earlier this morning (I only tried it as a test). I didn't have to open any ports at home and have my station setup to NAT to the internet. I suspect I have NAT-PMP enabled, but can't verify it right now as I am not home. Since I didn't have to open any ports, it pretty much has to be NAT-PMP opening them up.

Fairly painless for me - the only setup I did was sign up for the EyeTV connection service so that they keep track of my home public IP. I am actually impressed with how easy it was.
