This is a DLP display and that it uses lasers for it's light source. Read the Faq on Mitsubishi's site. Viewing angle on DLPs are fantasitic, much better then LCD. So this statement is very questionable at best. Maybe TVs just aren't your thing.

Jun 17th 2008 5:50PM Ben, I know you've been looking for a new remote. Why don't you get one from Universal Remote. Something like the MX-850. I personally have the MX-700 and LOVE IT. Very customizable from my laptop. Just plug it in and sync up the updates and tweak away. You can put macros on any hard button. They give you plenty of empty buttons. Not to mention that the button grouping at the top can be paged through. Meaning that for each device you program you can put in 40 extra items that you can page through some of the least used buttons on the old remote. I tried the harmony and hate the automatic macro generation. Check it out at least...

Jun 11th 2008 4:38PM I've tried using the PS3 to stream content to, using TVersity, ORB, and Mediatomb on a Linux box, but all have the same issue, I can't fast forward. Every time I try it locks up the video. I've also had issues where the video would shutter. This all with a wired connection. It's not HD but I've used the old Xbox with XBMC on it my same Linux box with a shared folder and everything streams and works great. Fast Forward and rewind to my hearts content. It also works with just about any format I throw at it, other then HD content and mpeg4. The other drawback is I can't turn it on with my remote (although can do everything else with the remote).

Apr 11th 2008 7:45PM I just bought a Receiver that can handle the bitstream and decode all audio there, so I'd prefer that. That said though, after hearing that the PS3 now can decode all the new audio formats. I finally caved and bought a PS3 to be my Blu-ray player (first and only) I was going to wait for a Profile 2 player to come out and drop in price by Christmas time. Just couldn't wait. PS3 is on the way.
