Poll: Where do you buy your Blu-ray discs now, if you buy them at all? {Engadget HD}

Oct 19th 2009 12:46AM Amazon is pretty much always the cheapest (especially once you factor in no tax & free shipping). However, if you're unable to wait and must buy right away, buy it at Target. Reason being: Target has the best price matching/adjustment policy, 90 days! This means, you buy the BD the week it comes out for $24.99 (plus tax of course) and from this date you have 90 days to return. So first and foremost, hold onto your receipt, and over the next 3 months whenever Target puts that BD title on a special/sale you technically "re-buy" it for say it's on sale for $15 that week, then return it with your old/original receipt that was for $24.99. This is the smartest/least expensive way to buy your BD movies from a B&M store. Or like I said first, if you're able to wait on a new movie for a few months, then just buy it later on from Amazon.

Apple TV junkies left out of new iTunes Extra special features {Engadget HD}

Sep 11th 2009 11:55AM haha. i agree. you just don't need that kind of stuff on an apple tv. apple tv's are not made for that kind of stuff.

Switched On: The iPod touch and the big picture {Engadget}

Sep 11th 2009 11:42AM Apple fucked me again. I really wanted the new iPod Touch, but it looks like I'll have to wait another year now. I am a fan of Apple, but god, I'm getting sick and tired of waiting for them. It's just like their computers & blu-ray. It's a long ass wait. And soon, I might just try going back to that other company, even though I dislike Microsoft with a passion.

58 percent of salespeople recommend Samsung HDTVs, 100 percent like big commission checks {Engadget}

Sep 11th 2009 11:31AM This is one of the main reasons I don't buy Samsung. If the salesmen push it, there has to be a reason. Samsung is cheap. Always has been. Always will be. And when I say cheap, I mean cheap as in plastic-like cheap. Their price points are cheap too though. Read all the reviews on here that say how "Samsung TV's are the best" and you'll also find in the same review "for the money". Cheap is what drives people. They just want the biggest, newest technology, for the least amount of money. This is where Samsung thrives. Personally, I'd rather get a good quality HDTV rather than 2 or 3 cheap shitty plastic Samsung TV's. But I know most will just go for the best they can afford, and sadly, Samsung knows what most can afford & takes advantage of this.

Video: Xperia Pureness (codename Kiki) announced {Engadget}

Sep 3rd 2009 1:35PM Sounds like I'm alone here, but I love this phone! I think it's awesome. It's not just a phone, it is a piece of art! I do hope they keep the front this clean/simple and just but the name/logo on the back side of the phone (and keep it small). I can see this phone come in black, white, grey/silver & maybe even a red. I'm sure that this would not be a smartphone, but that's okay. As long as it works well, looks good and most importantly: built well! They need to use high-end materials so that the screen will stay scratch free (sapphire crystal) and an anodized aluminum body would be a nice touch too. If this is implemented correctly, they can pretty much ask anywhere from $500 - $1000, since this phone will be for a select group of individuals anyway. People who don't care about, or need, a smartphone. Or people who would use this as a second phone. Also, people who really appreciate art. Not to mention collectors and individuals with deep pockets.

Amazon & iTunes drop digital download prices. Still cost too much {Engadget HD}

Sep 1st 2009 4:52PM There are a "finite" number of douche-bags too! But we can fix this! For this posting alone, we have 2 douche-bags so far! Will there be a lucky #3??

Amazon & iTunes drop digital download prices. Still cost too much {Engadget HD}

Sep 1st 2009 12:29PM You're a douche bag! You're exactly the problem. But we can fix that problem... just get rid of the "problem"! :) Who's with me?

Amazon & iTunes drop digital download prices. Still cost too much {Engadget HD}

Sep 1st 2009 11:40AM All valid points. I agree with the posts before. Yeah, there is a convenience factor, but if the picture isn't crisp & clear, that's not exactly a convenience then. As far as "mainstream adaptation" pricing should go, I think new release blu-rays should cost $19.99, dvd's $14.99 & digital downloads $9.99. Older releases should be $5.00 less.. thus, blu-rays $14.99, dvd's $9.99 & digital downloads $4.99. Digital rentals should all be in high resolution (assuming we have the internet performance for them) & they should cost no more than $1.99 for new releases and $0.99 for older movies. If the prices are any higher, people will just pick Netflix or go to the closet Redbox (Blu-Box in the future for blu-rays). Just my opinion.

Poll: Will you buy a PS3 Slim to use as a Blu-ray player? {Engadget HD}

Aug 29th 2009 4:03PM Nah. I would use the PS3 as a gaming machine, but not for blu-ray. Just like I used my PS2 for gaming, not as a dvd player. As far as blu-ray stand-alone players go, I still lean towards the OPPO BDP-83 for the under $500 players. I am a bit of a Sony fan, and their BD players are not bad, but the OPPO is just hands down a better machine. I wish it was Sony's machine, so that it would sync up nicely with my 46" Sony XBR8 & Sony DA6400ES receiver, but oh well. It's not that important for it to sync (bravia link wise) that I'd pass up my OPPO for anything else, even a Sony unit.

Panasonic taking 3D, Avatar on world tour this fall {Engadget HD}

Aug 21st 2009 7:07PM 3D TV will fail. It will be more of a flop than BD Live. You heard it here first. Guaranteeing a flop/fail for 3D TV. As far as HDMI 1.4 goes, well, that will pass, because that is a sure thing that will make consumers re-buy/update their electronics (HDTV's, BD players, receivers, etc). But 3D is & will always be a joke. If it becomes a success, you all have the right to bash on me. But until that happens my statement will stand strong!
