Wii MotionPlus review: it works, but so far the games aren't worth the fuss {Engadget}
Jun 30th 2009 4:57PM the reviewer for GST is just holding the controller vertically and waggling it. Now I suppose there's a point to be made that you can still return a shot with a waggle, as if I would hold a real tennis racket like that and waggle it the ball would probably bounce off the racket and into my eye.
the other issue is that the motion plus is expecting to come back to center after every stroke, just as you should be doing if you're playing real tennis. If you're waggling the remote around after your completed stroke, then center position is wherever you've been waggling it, so your next shot will be screwy and unpredictable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf3eV6sh3Vs
So EA decided to not really do 1:1 for whatever reason, but it seems the expectation is that motion plus will allow 1:1 movement, so that the racket follows the player's motion at all times. 1:1 probably made for a game as difficult to pick up and learn as real tennis, so that's probably why EA decided to pull back from that. Anyhow, it think it is a reviewer's responsibility to at least put some effort into learning how to play the game as the publisher intended, and use that to inform the review, rather than on what turned out to be a false expectation.

Jun 30th 2009 3:10PM there's a lot of info on the ea forums http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/categories/show/82.page.
Both games have plusses and minuses and both are not perfect. Neither have true 1:1. I have both and have yet to decide which I like better but am currently into GST more right now.

Jun 11th 2009 5:12PM Ditched DirecTV in Jan'08. Hooked up rabbit ears and a Windows Media Center PC to my HDTV and haven't looked back. I had an initial investment to upgrade my network to gigabit and the additional PC (which is now directly hooked up to the tv instead of streaming over the home network), but I think i've about broken even now (factoring in paid downloaded content).
Its a little more work to watch tv that I want to watch than to just flop on the couch with a remote. Because I have to surf netflix/hulu/amazon/itunes for content in addition to the OTA content pulled down to the PC. But that's the way I like it, it keeps my tv watching sessions limited. I use the logitech PS3 bluetooth keyboard for the PC its a great media center pc.
Cerberus to reportedly lose stake in Chrysler as part of bailout deal {Autoblog}
Mar 31st 2009 3:39PM I'm surprised no one has mentioned Daimler's hand in this. The Chrysler left over from DaimlerChrysler was a shell of its former Chrysler Corp self. Its billions of cash reserves from the 90's had been raided, product development slashed, foreign presence outside Canada and Mexico still rest with Daimler, not to mention the mismanagment under Daimler.
And post complaining about Fiat taking it over are priceless I don't think they can do any worse than Daimler

"At the end the people pay and the question becomes, if at the end people pay one way or another, either with higher taxes or with product becoming less affordable, the question become are we better off with government running our health care system.........because as i said government does not pay for it, it simply taxes people."
Being that health care in countries where it is nationalized costs far far less than the system we have here I would say we would be better off with the government running it.
