Philips 56-inch Cinema 21:9 ultra widescreen LCD hands on {Engadget HD}

May 1st 2009 5:34AM The article is in Dutch, my native language. So you just have to use Google translate to translate it from Dutch into English.

Philips is also Dutch, so that's why Tweakers.net did get a review model.

Apple adds HD video purchases to the iTunes Store {Engadget HD}

Mar 20th 2009 3:37AM Unbelievable non of these HD download services like this one & Netflix is available in Europe! Well, I'm glad Bittorrent offers better quality & it's available everywhere ;-)

Study shows Europe slow to bite on internet TV viewing {Engadget HD}

Feb 23rd 2009 5:26AM Exactly my thought in my home country the Netherlands there's only one HD cinema channel (Film 1) & because its owned by UPC it even isn't available on satellite :-( but only on cable. Quite ridiculous though because the other (SD) Film1 channels are available on satellite. To be honest I don't miss it, because they only air "old" movies with the newest 2 years old.

You can imagine I'm a happy Bittorrent user ;-)

Dream Multimedia unveils dual-tuner DM 8000 HD PVR in Europe {Engadget HD}

Jan 5th 2009 12:38PM This box is way to expensive. The DM800 is much cheaper (about 450 Euros) & the Kathrein UFS 910 is a real winner, only 300 Euros.

All these boxes are Linux based & are running Enigma2 (Python based framework) & do offer many interesting possibilities, like mediacenter capability & can read all possible smartcard encryptions.
