Jun 29th 2009 4:10PM Easy there guys ... it looks like it will come with Blu-ray player software, like every retail Blu-ray disc drive. The ASUS website mentions TrueTheater HD (TTHD), which is Cyberlink's DVD upsampling technology, found only in PowerDVD (the Blu-ray player software).

Jun 29th 2009 4:00PM This is an external Blu-ray ROM drive / DVD Burner combo. It's not a Blu-ray player. On a PC, the "player" is the software, like Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra.
Yes... USB 2.0 can easily handle Blu-ray bitrates.

Please please please bring FiOS to Silicon Valley!!! We have a Verizon office right down the street here in Los Gatos... but no FiOS! We have aerial wiring... plenty of techie and wealthy residents who would sign up in droves. Why does Southern California get all the love?

Nov 21st 2008 1:23PM FiOS rocks. I had the service in NJ, before I moved to Silicon Valley. It's not only much faster, but MUCH more reliable Internet access.
I just can't understand why Verizon has ignored Silicon Valley. There are lots of people here who have money, and would kill for a decent connection. C'mon Verizon... bring some FiOS joy to northern california!
