Poll: Where do you buy your Blu-ray discs now, if you buy them at all? {Engadget HD}

Oct 18th 2009 6:13PM Not for nothing but the prices have definitely come down. I know they were like $30 when Blu-ray first came out but you can actually get a bunch of movies for as low as $9.99 from Best Buy no less - http://www.tvlampsnbulbs.com/2009/10/best-buy-offering-blu-ray-movies-for-under-10/

I've stayed away from Blu-ray because I wasn't sure if it was going to get as popular as it has.

Also, once you figure buying a player and a new TV to watch it on it came add up if you aren't ready to take the plunge.

LG unveils new slim design LCD HDTVs due this fall {Engadget HD}

Jul 31st 2009 11:55AM Just looked and noticed that someone messed up the tags for this story. Shouldn't it be SL80 and SL90... not LS?

Ask Engadget HD: What's the best plasma to pick up in 2009? {Engadget HD}

Jul 22nd 2009 4:52PM Pretty much the only bets are Samsung and Panasonic.

Samsung are the safe easy bet. The Panasonic have always been getting rave reviews and it definitely shows here in the comments! It doesn't help that Panasonic has been spending a lot in online marketing and TV commercials.

At 173 Watts, the P42G10 isn't a complete energy beast even though I'm sure 99% of people would use some kind of energy saving option.

If you want something bigger and cheaper the TH58PZ850U is out there available for $1700 which is crazy given the reviews it's received in the past.

As far as 720p options go, my vote goes to the TC-P50X1 from Panasonic. Nothing else out there for under $800 is going to compete with this especially if you aren't big on movies and won't about what your missing out on in the whole 720p vs. 1080p debate.

myTouch 3G hands-on (with video!) {Engadget}

Jul 8th 2009 12:57PM Maybe I'm an odd-ball but I love Live Search...Bing Search...whatever people call it these days. One of the things I don't like on my Pre is that I can't change where I want to search for things like you can do with your web browser. It's great that Android is all google-fied but some Yahoo search or Bing search would help make this more useful since Google isn't always the best option for everyone.

GM will do "heavy lifting" toward plug-in goal [w/POLL] {Autoblog Green}

Jun 26th 2009 2:05PM Can I get a non-plug in version of this car? I love the way this thing looks. Love the lights, love the design language and if this came out as a diesel or hybrid I'd abandon my plans to get my A3 TDI and seriously consider picking one of these up.

I know I'm not the only one. Come on GM, you've made your money on the back of repurposing stuff you've already made - the people want cake...now what are you gonna do?

Sprint takes a bite out of the Apple, touts innovative Pre features like 'multitasking' {Engadget}

Jun 26th 2009 12:14PM Them there are fightin' words if I ever heard 'em.

Dan Hesse must have surely grown a pair and decided to go after the big gorilla in Cupertino. Now they just need to ramp up production to cash in on all this name calling and this just might turn out to be more than a David vs. Goliath pissing match.

Huawei U8230 Android phone officially launched at CommunicAsia {Engadget}

Jun 16th 2009 12:20PM Give me this phone. Give it to me with Sprint service. Give it to me for $199 (WITH NO REBATE!!) and I'll gladly sign up for another two years and may even give a part of my liver.

Homebrew Pre firmware just a button, cable away? {Engadget}

Jun 12th 2009 11:59PM Since we're getting creative, why not port Windows 7 to the Pre.... kidding. kidding.

Homebrew is cool as long as it doesn't break the rest of the Pre. I doubt Palm is going to be like Apple. If they get people clamouring for these devices even if it's just to hack them up and load a bunch of other stuff on it it won't matter. You'll still have to buy the phone and activate it which means that Sprint and Palm will both be getting what they were looking for.

Flat-panel TV sales jump 23% over last year, Vizio leads the way {Engadget}

May 11th 2009 6:27PM Consider this - Best Buy's most recent ad has lots of 40 and 42 inch HDTVs for under $700. Psychologically, investing in an HDTV now is probably one of the best things someone can do. Heck, even 32" HDTVs are now going for under $400. The only thing holding more people back is that Cable/Satellite service isn't offered where they are so they'll almost never see an HD picture unless they buy a blu-ral player.

Wireless 3D HDTV over WiMax in ever car/plane/house.........Vizio - make it so!

ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell unboxed, deemed the slimmest, sexiest model yet {Engadget}

May 8th 2009 2:57PM $565?

Yowza. Is it possible to get size comparison between that and the Adamo or the Air? Relatively speaking the price isn't that high but this is a far way from the $299 netbooks started out at.
