Heads Up: Update your Apple TV to 3.0.1 ASAP, says Apple {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Nov 7th 2009 7:14PM No, that's annoy me terribly, too.
Every time I'd see it, I'd feel appalled, especially since it's an Apple thing.
Ah well. If only I had an Apple TV and a nice HDTV to go with it...
It sucks being a 15 year old who only gets £5 a week...

It's Friday afternoon, and the online Apple Store is down {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 16th 2009 4:51PM As much as I'd like that all to happen, I doubt the price cuts might.
However, I'd love for the 13" to have a 9600GT considering I'm getting one by next year!

Ask TUAW: Photoshop alternatives, Windows and Mac file sharing, application switching and more {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 8th 2009 6:24PM That's what I meant.
Sometimes I want it to be on overnight (downloading something for me, for example) and I don't want it to sleep when I close the lid.
Is there any way of doing this?
At the moment I have an Eee 1000H hackintosh and use SleepLess on Leopard, but I am wondering if Snow Leopard has this feature.
I'd be annoying if it hasn't been included. It's been an option in Windows since at least XP, and SleepLess asks me to buy it every half hour or something.

Oct 8th 2009 6:02PM Hi,
I'm due to be getting my first (official) Mac by the end of this year.
It's going to be a MacBook Pro 13".
Is there a way to get OS X to not shut down on lid close?
Thanks!
Rhys

HP Envy 13 review {Engadget}

Oct 5th 2009 4:18PM Just because you don't, doesn't mean other people don't.
I'll admit, I have a netbook. Which I despise.
It's absolutely pathetically slow and there's nothing I can do about it.
However, other laptops/notebooks I've used can be damn fast.
I have my netbook however to take to school. It's light, thin and it's actually pretty hardy.
I also enjoy it for playing music on, watching videos on and browsing the web on. It has a bigger screen than my iPhone.
A lot of people like laptops because they're portable and can move them around much more easily than a desktop. The laptop concept doesn't need to be redesigned.
Laptops, when given the right hardware, are wonderful machines that contain everything needed in a computing experience.
They can have fast processors, fast RAM and lots of it, big and fast hard drives, a fast optical drive, webcam, powerful graphics, a trackpad and a screen.
Sorry for such a long winded answer, but I just find it annoying when people want things to be redesigned/re-conceived for the sake of it.

HP Envy 13 review {Engadget}

Oct 5th 2009 4:10PM Not by the sounds of things.
That's just how the trackpad is.
If they wanted to emulate the MacBook Pro's trackpad, that really is what they should've done, since you can do that on a MBP.
However, don't you just find it easier to tap to click?

HP Envy 13 review {Engadget}

Oct 5th 2009 4:06PM No, because they're so 'Apple-biased' they realise people will be using Cmd+R
:P
But really, the only Fn key worth keeping is f5, so it could just be redone with a refresh logo.
Also, I don't hate Apple. Nor do I think Engadget are Apple biased.

Apple hardware changes alter Microsoft "Hunter" ads {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 24th 2009 9:40PM Which is exactly why they boosted the specs in the iPhone 3GS...
