Subscription services like Netflix Watch Instantly generates 20x the revenue of pay-per-downloads {Engadget HD}

Aug 6th 2009 5:49PM I am going to have to call you guys on this one. Red box is $1 per day - not $1 plus it doesn't take long to rake up transportation costs if you have to go out of your way to get to one. Also I will am going to call you on VOD every cable and Sat company has these services and they are cash cows. Not really sure how Amazon is doing but it appears they are doing well.

Netflex may make more sense but that hasn't stopped the mases yet.

Engadget HD giveaway: win a 5x1 HDMI switch and long HDMI cables! {Engadget HD}

Apr 22nd 2009 2:06PM I don't know about fixing the world economy, but I vote for legalizing most drugs, prostitution, and gabling - that would be a good start to getting rid or organized (and violent crime) and reducing the waisted $$ government spends trying to control peoples bad habits.

Moxi HD DVR initial impressions {Engadget HD}

Apr 21st 2009 1:49PM Prices change so worrying about them in a usability review does add much. Currently it is about $800 more than a TiVo HD with lifetime and less than a TiVo HD XL with lifetime.

Unboxing the Moxi HD DVR {Engadget HD}

Apr 17th 2009 12:01PM Just a comment on pricing including shipping from quick Internet search

Moxi: $799

TiVo HD XL With Lifetime:
Current TiVo owner: $795
Non TiVo owner: $895

TiVo HD with Lifetime:
Current TiVo owner: $530
Non TiVo ower: $630

Of course prices change almost daily but it is pretty clear that the Moxi doesn't have a price advantage over TiVo.

Apr 14th 2009 12:06PM No good OTA DVRs? Really? Maybe you should take a look at a TiVo HD.

Time Warner Cable lays out broadband capping plans, says $150 for "unlimited" use {Engadget HD}

Apr 10th 2009 2:30PM I live in the Rochester NY area another test market. I am sure they picked it because their only competition is Frontier DSL - Time Warner owns most of the Rochester market now - no hope of FIOS and Frontier DSL has limited ability to go up against them. I started a fairly long thread over on the TiVo Community forum:

Moxi's 500GB HD DVR now available en masse {Engadget HD}

Mar 25th 2009 1:54PM Or another way to price TiVo:
TiVo HD $250 (amazon)
500 GB external drive $112 (buy.com)
lifetime for existing TiVo owners $299

The Tivo is $674 total (or $125 less than the Moxi) with more space than the Moxi and it works with OTA.
