James Cameron thinks he can get viewers asking to wear 3D glasses {Engadget HD}

Nov 24th 2009 1:28PM @ack154 Higher resolution is at a point of diminishing returns. 4k on a 50" screen is a waste of resources, you have to be within a couple of feet to see the pixels on a 1080p image. Of course when we all have 100" screens in our living room it may make a difference :) For the industry as a whole 3D will generate a lot more excitement among the masses than increased resolution.

Yes :)

The only way I can see the wind generation being effective at all would be in regenerative braking. Using movable body panels like some Mercedes racing machines (50s?) and that Chapparel in the '60s. I doubt the benefit would outweigh the cost at the speeds we legally drive.

Ask Engadget HD: Is it (still) a good time to buy a TiVo? {Engadget HD}

Oct 29th 2009 3:21PM I've been with TiVo since 2001. That dvr is still running with a lifetime subscription at a friends ( 1 harddrive replacement). I now have 2 HD units. But, since I also have a windows machine next to the TV. If I was starting over it would be a tough call. Win7 media center is very nice. Only time will tell if the user installed cablecards will work as advertised.

How would you change Microsoft's Zune HD? {Engadget}

Oct 10th 2009 11:27AM Better browser. Make Opera available in the app store :). Speaking of the browser, be able to syn favorites from your PC, Typing in urls is painful on the on-screen keyboard. As for making it a phone, I think we have to wait for Win7 Mobile, by then the software should be integrated.

WirelessHD second generation hardware promises "mass adoption" pricing {Engadget HD}

Oct 9th 2009 12:43PM Right now I have 1 HDMI cable connected to my tv, what I really need is wireless connectivity between my receiver and the 5 HDMI devices connected to it. That would eliminate cables :)
