Netflix coming next month to PlayStation 3 {Engadget HD}
Oct 26th 2009 1:51PM Perhaps I wasn't stretching to far. A Quote from Joystick
Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities noted that the Blu-ray disc required for Netflix playback on the PS3 may circumvent exclusivity clauses instituted by Microsoft. "We believe that the exclusive arrangement limits Netflix's ability to appear on the 'dashboard' for the PS3 or the Wii." Additionally, Pachter believes Netflix streaming will expand to Nintendo's console next year. "We anticipate that a similar arrangement will be announced for the Wii in the next 12 months."
Netflix coming next month to PlayStation 3 {Engadget HD}
Oct 26th 2009 12:02PM I had the same thought. It might have been a way to get around the exclusivity microsoft held on the console front by creating a disc that would give access to bd-live enabled bluray players, not specifically the ps3. Although this is a bit of a stretch.

Jul 15th 2009 3:45PM I was recently thinking about the simultaneous release concept for movies, and trying to work out how to limit the piracy rates and I came to this conclusion. First there is no way to stop the cam versions of movies and screeners. But in regards to rips from dvd and blurays, I've noticed that on average rips from the actual retail copies don't start appearing for download till
about 2 weeks prior to release in stores. Which sounds like the stores are receiving the shipment of discs in advance to allow time for all stores to receive shipments for same day launch and employees are ripping and leaking the movies. So if studios wanted to try the release concept and limit piracy they just need to cut the shipping time to 1 week then release the disc version after 3 weeks of the movie being in theaters. This would give the movies 2 weeks of theater time/profits (which is usually the time a movie is most seen) then lead into disc sales on week 3. I bet this would stop people from buying cams and screeners and cut out a week of downloads. Anyways love the show keep up the good work.

Jun 19th 2009 4:47PM While I agree that the G1's battery isnt great i have noticed a increase in battery life since the update to cupcake. I can now run from 7am to 8pm with all settings enabled (wifi. 3g, gps) with normal use watching videos on youtube. Its like a 25-50% increase over precupcake firmware. Am I the only one that experiences this?

Logitech Harmony Adapter for PlayStation 3 now shipping {Engadget HD}
May 15th 2009 1:03PM Mine just arrived. On a side note the adapter also has a port to directly plug into the harmony rf extender. Which i guess is nice, it will allow me to hide this away. However it doesn't come with the cable to do this, so I guess I'll need to pick up a male to male 3.5 stereo mini jack cable.
