Miyamoto thinks his college degree wouldn't get him a job at Nintendo today {Joystiq}
Nov 23rd 2009 11:21PM I wish I knew Nic Offer of !!!. I'd plan a throw down between him and Giuliani. In a schoolyard.
If I knew Nickelback's Chad Kroeger, I'd sock him. Then I'd ship him to Matthew Good, with a baseball or cricket bat that said, "USE WITH EXTREME FORCE."
Actually, all I'll say is the band in question had their music in a PSP commercial in Canada last year, upon which the song's YouTube vid got spammed with sellout accusations. And they're from Boston.

Nov 23rd 2009 8:23PM There's a joke at my alma mater: The Success Program that so many alums follow require them to drop out two or three years in. Which is funny, except that it's true. The latest: A classmate of mine who dropped out his junior year. He's now fronting a band that is selling out shows across the country.
It really just shows how much a joke college is, you know?

Count The Beats: Logic Studio, are you in love? (Poll) {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Nov 17th 2009 3:11AM Kyle, all you did was prove the point by being a zealot. What we're asking is not a freaking development timeline. Just an announcement that this release is happening, say, a couple weeks or so in advance. It's obvious they've been working on this, so why not let us know? There need not be an Aluminum and Glass Curtain on everything Apple does. Not everything has the high-profile, high-profit-margin aspect that requires utter secrecy before being dropped like bricks.

Nov 16th 2009 8:45PM I honestly want to give Apple the finger for this. They should have given some advance notice for this release, and they gave none. NONE. Not even the authorized retailers I'm in contact with knew about the release until about a day or so before it happened. Engineers I knew who were Logic users had to scramble so that they wouldn't lose clients. I know some people who bought Logic Studio 8 only a couple weeks before the release, some with academic licenses (so they can't return it), and they're pissed. It's a travesty that Apple did that. It's another kick to the curb for pro engineers.
John Carmack: Working with Apple not always easy {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Nov 12th 2009 11:57PM @Yoshi1080: Ken Kutaragi (head of SCE) has made several comments stating that the Playstation is, upfront and center, a media center which just happens to play video games. He is disgusted whenever it is referred to as a game console.
Jobs may perhaps see the iPod touch under the same circumstances (as a media-player/mini all-in-one that can play video games, too), but rather unwillingly on the games part.

Nov 9th 2009 8:20PM Ah crap, didn't finish that second sentence. I meant "Or is he still bitter over Bungie being bought out by Microsoft?"

Nov 9th 2009 8:18PM That Jobs hates video games? Or is still bitter about Bungie's buy
Let's be real here, the Mac as a gaming platform has been utter bollocks. Gabe Newell of Valve has openly stated he would like to work with Apple, but there are several subject matters that Apple won't budge (Granted, Gabe was previously a M$ dev, and I'd like to know what he meant by that...but still). The vast majority of games nowadays are just PC games that have a Cider shell on top of them rather than developed natively (even Blizzard, long an Apple supporter, is moving to Cider). And Apple has offered no incentive for them to develop natively.
Either Jobs has taken the Sony approach (i.e., they don't see games as a quintessential element) to an extreme, or he hates video games.
DROID tethering? It's coming early 2010, says Verizon {Engadget}
Nov 4th 2009 6:27AM Well...the thing is, EVERY OTHER MEDIA OUTLET is covering/hyping this phone. This is more keeping up than anything else. Not everyone can be Pitchfork/BrooklynVegan and ignore/bash stupid stuff (and even those guys are guilty of following stupid trends).
DROID tethering? It's coming early 2010, says Verizon {Engadget}
Nov 4th 2009 6:22AM Can I just say how much of a spoiled brat you sound right there?
Not only does it say that tethering IS coming, but in no way is this a matter of "fair use" (how the hell are you defining "fair use" here? because clearly it doesn't make sense to the fair use I've come to understand, nor does it seem relevant) like you claim, but looks more like a matter of getting it to work properly on official level. I must say, at least they responded reasonably: Announcing, before launch, a timeframe of when to expect it after launch. You couldn't get that from Apple/AT&T, could you?
You've rushed to judgement, and you lack any sense of patience. Verizon has lots of problems, but you sound more like a brat who will kvetch at the slightest error. Go back to mama.
