LA 2009: 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, mass-market potential has four doors {Autoblog}
Dec 1st 2009 10:23PM I, too, would like to see this. Is it like those pictures you have to look at a long time cross-eyed and the underlying image shows itself? I'll try and get back to you.

Dec 1st 2009 10:15PM Luckily, as with most GM vehicles, there are plenty of high-quality vinyl overlay decals to cover the emblem. I'm sure one will be (is, if the bowtie is the same size as the euro market Cruze) out to cover the bowtie. I've got two black Pontiac dart overlay decals on my black G8 now. Adds a lot to the looks of the car.
2011 Chevrolet Volt gets taken for a test drive {Engadget}

You may want to take a look at the body-style timelines of those cars. The first Prius (NHW10) was Japan-only, '97-'01 models. This car was sedan-styled and not hatchback-styled (looks like an Accent). The first Insight was 2000. That in fact had the hatchback rear which the Prius resembles now. The U.S. version started in 2001, but it wasn't til 2004 that it started the hatchback styling.
PS, I am the furthest thing from a Honda fan.

Malibu is the Epsilon platform. The Volt is on the Delta II platform. Currently on the overseas Chevy & Holden Cruze/Daewoo Lacetti and the Opel/Vauxhall/Chevy Astra.
Also, as things stand, this car is on schedule for late 2010 as a 2011 model, with sales starting in California.

New York State hiding tax increase behind throwback license plates? {Autoblog}
Nov 12th 2009 6:12PM To be accurate, the population of Long Island includes a portion of New York City (Brooklyn and Queens). They overlap. As of the 2000 census, 4.69 million of the population of 7.45 million of Long Island was composed of New York City's portion. That would make 2.76 million non-NYC. Add that 2.76 million to the NYC population of 8.01 million as of the 2000 census, and you get 10.77 million.
Not disputing any of your other comments, just clarifying on the population.

Nov 12th 2009 2:03PM The new plate color scheme will go just peachy with my black Pontiac G8.
The DMV's Web site says the custom picture plates will not be included in the plate reissuance program until later on in 2010. I may just finally purchase that New York Yankees plate after all to stay away from these hideous plates for just a little longer.
And to clarify, according to the DMV Q&A, if you have a vanity plate number, you do NOT need to pay the additional $20 to keep your plate number. The $20 would only be for those who wish to keep their current, state-issued plate number.
Latest auto iPhone app: Augmented reality parked car finder {Autoblog}
Nov 6th 2009 8:59AM There's also some Windows Mobile programs out there like this, although I don't know if any use the camera. Some of them use their own mapping, and some can save a position in Google Maps. I also believe there's a hanful of other iPhone parked car apps. My guess is the difference is those do not use the camera.
Can't speak for Palm, Blackberry or Android.
