Mar 12th 2008 2:06PM HD does *not* need to be encoded. HD is digital and is encoded at the broadcaster. HD recording is just a matter of tuning the stream and dumping it to disk, and therefore requires next to no CPU. That said, most P4s are going to be scraping by in playback, especially in a dog like Windows. Improve your CPU, everything else is fine.
