Feb 29th 2008 6:58PM another example of how corporate politics decided the winner of this format war, not the consumers. The Attache rate of HD-DVD to HD-DVD player blew Blu-ray away. Ah well, glad I bought both a PS3 and a 360.

Feb 16th 2008 8:10PM I've had a PS3 and Xbox360 HD-DVD add-on since the beginnin' of '07. Now i'm just waitin' for the cheap Blu-ray players to start rollin' in so I can add one to each room in my house! When they have a good one for 250, i'll be all over it.

Jan 28th 2008 5:02PM Damn, an HD-DVD player for $100 or a BRD player for $400. Looks like i'm buying my parents an A3!
Can't beat a $100 Hi-Def player, ya just can't! With the free movies it comes with, and it's upconverting abilities, I find that it's a great deal.
I'm not a "fanboy" since I have both a PS3 and a 360 Add-on drive, and an equal amount of discs for both formats! Just think that my parents would really enjoy the Hi-Def experience and I don't really mind dropping a benjamin to make that happen!
At the moment Blu-ray doesn't have any more big hits slated for a while, while HD-DVD has American Gangster, Beowulf, and Bee Movie. I dont know for sure, but at these prices, I highly doubt HD-DVD will die off this year. I mean, you simply can't get the new Paramount and Universal hits on BRD (yet).
I for one, love the existance of two formats, competition always keeps us on the cutting-edge, and keeps prices reasonable. (Just like with the "Console Wars")

Jan 8th 2008 2:04PM So in the end, the winners are the dual-format and hd-dvd buyers since they got to enjoy the HD-DVD exclusives, and now know which side will win, so they can now have a vast selection of Blu-ray hits to watch? i think so? lol
Glad to see one side has landed a decisive blow. And glad I have both a 360 add-on and a PS3 =)>

Jan 2nd 2008 1:49PM Why must you people argue? BOGO's are great, if we didn't have this format war, prices wouldn't be going down so quick, and we wouldn't have these great deals on Hi-Def media.
If HD-DVD gets another studio on it's side, or WB goes HD-DVD exclusive, i'm sticking with HD-DVD as I have from the beginning. But if NOTHING happens for HD-DVD this coming CES (like XBox coming out with an included HD-DVD drive, or a shift in studio support), i'm buying a blu-ray player and going format neutral to cover all bases.
