Paramount flicks to see Blu-ray purchase, DVD rental availability ahead of DVD sale date {Engadget HD}

Jul 31st 2009 9:41AM That is why they are using non popular movies. How many people care to go out and buy Dance Flick on DVD VS just renting it to see it? If they were doing that with oh lets say, Star Trek, they would be total morons.

Evidently it's still cool to hate on Blu-ray: Harris Poll spin {Engadget HD}

Jun 22nd 2009 5:14PM Blu Ray disc would be the hottest selling format of all time, even beating DVD, if the movies didn't cost as much as they do now. Even an old, lame library title is about 20$ after sales tax.

Sony Pictures to smarten up Blu-ray with MovieIQ, the "killer app for BD-Live" {Engadget HD}

Jun 19th 2009 10:23AM I don't blame BD-J so much for BD-Live (Profile 2.0) for being so unexciting, but I blame content creators more then anything. Even when HD-DVD used there online services it was not that exciting. The most exciting thing that came out of online services with HD-DVD was with Harry Potter and the ability to Chat with others while viewing the movie at the same time. Even that was pushing it since almost every person purchases a Blu Ray disc for its quality not features.

Studios should focus on Quality, amount of titles released, and most importantly, PRICE!!!!

BD's are WAY to expensive right now and need to drop fast.
