HTC Touch Pro2 graces Verizon on September 11 {Engadget}
Sep 4th 2009 8:12PM Good luck with that. Despite the fact that Verizon is notorious for locking out pretty much all functionality on their phones that would keep you from giving them even more of your monies (despite them having the most expensive plans out of the big 4), I have as of yet to see these multi-national cdma phones do quad band for gsm. In other words, forget about hooking up with t-mo unless you're in Europe.
HTC Touch Pro2 calls dibs on 3.5mm audio jack for Telus and Verizon {Engadget Mobile}
Jul 17th 2009 4:33PM By "software problems", you mean "we haven't yet figured out how to replace any new or current functionality provided by Windows Mobile or HTC for free with our own, crappy versions that we bill you out the nose for".
iKey's AK-39 wearable keyboard is about as weapon-like as it sounds {Engadget}
Jul 14th 2009 7:17PM Although this isn't quite as robust, L3 Systems has a very similar keyboard that I've had bookmarked for years for a couple of projects that I was working on. http://www.l3sys.com/wristpc/wristpc.html
Autonet Mobile in-car WiFi router goes national with Amazon availability {Engadget}
Jun 23rd 2009 9:41AM This is actually fairly brilliant ... I work in NYC, primarilly, so free wi-fi is generally just about anywhere I want it if I'm willing to stand still long enough. However I've been on a number of construction sites where someone needed to grab some updated blueprints or reference some e-mail from an architect in Germany (no shit, this has happened more than once) and while the e-mail was mostly not a problem with a decent crackberry, opening massive PDFs really needs a laptop.
Just last week, I needed to pull up documentation for a home automation system, and the house was still being put together, so this would've kicked ass.
Now I just need to buy a car to put it in ....
DivX fills in the gaps and adds MKV support to Windows 7 {Engadget HD}
May 1st 2009 12:39PM Why stop development from happening? If the ffdshow-tryouts guys decide to go Media Foundation, then more power to 'em. Although I'm running the RC right now, and I haven't installed a single codec (did install Haali, however). I watch all of my movies in M2TS containers or DVD Folders for the most part. And I have MKVs associated with Media Player Classic HomeCinerma. Haven't had to install a single codec or filter yet.
Poll: Is anyone still watching SDTV? {Engadget HD}
Apr 25th 2009 1:33PM Discovery, Food Network, Comedy Central ... not being broadcast in the clear by CableVision, and I hate using a box ... gonna order an HD PVR soon though, so that should raise my percentage fairly signifigantly when used at the same time as my regular tuner and my HDHomeRun. Plus, H.264 transport streams!
Verizon's FiOS TV expansions: March 28, 2009 {Engadget HD}
Mar 29th 2009 5:20AM I live in West Harrison, NY and the town has been in negotiations to get FiOS TV service for a few months now. On my way to a client, I saw 8 Verizon trucks on the same block and a new box being installed by one of them.
Keepin' it real fake, part CLXXXIV: NOKLA E81 is a dash of this, a dash of that {Engadget}
Feb 15th 2009 11:21PM I dunno. That looks an awful lot like Windows Mobile Phone Edition. And I have as of yet to see a PE phone with a touch screen. Of course I've been wrong before.

Dec 25th 2008 8:45PM This would be great for the next time the satellite service gives out at my local bar again! we ended up watching the election on my 13" laptop with CNN over someone's wireless that we broke into because we couldn't get it on the TV!
