GlideTV Navigator puts Media Center controls in the palm of your hand
Otherwise content users of Boxee or Hulu on the big screen in the living room, the tyranny of the keyboard and mouse may finally be over! GlideTV Navigator is a palm-sized remote control that features a trackpad and backlit AV buttons, just the thing to further enable your YouTube addiction beyond the confines of your computer nook. Works with Windows XP or Vista (we're assuming there's a Windows 7 version on tap as well), Mac OS X, and the Sony PS3, and the package includes a charging cradle and USB receiver. Sadly, the on-screen keyboard and integrated search apps are Windows only for the time being. Look to spend about $149 -- but not before peeping the gallery below.

i dont like it - it needs a qwerty keyboard
something like a palm-pre with a touchscreen for the mouse and iphone like multi touch abilities with a qwerty keyboard would be the ultimate HTPC media center remote - also the keyboard has to be functionable in bios - just like a regular keyboard - who make this would make a killing

As one of the beta testers on this unit, I would suggest you give it a try before you say you don't like it. If you added a qwerty keyboard you would no longer be able to hold it in the palm of your hand. And it does allow you to access an on screen keyboard if you are looking to type. This remote and included software are very user friendly. It really makes using your HTPC simple. Personally I like it.

Whether you need this really depends on what kind of activities you normally do with your media center. I think this fits if you mainly use a media center software and occasionally need a temporary mouse. However, if you tend to browse internet more on your HTPC you might need to look other options like highlighted in this article:
