Time to set your DVRs for the Fall season
Oh yes, it's that time a year, time to make sure you have your DVR set to record all the Fall premiers. Now of course we'll continue to have the latest and greatest shows listed on our daily listings post, but with a week like this with so many premiers we also like to head over to Geek Tonic to see the entire week summarized in a single post. It gives us a chance to see which new shows we might want to record, or just to go through the old series recording list and check it twice. So if you love HD programming as much as us, head over and be sure to let us know what you'll be watching this season.

So the power was out at my house all day and night up until about 10min ago, so my Media Center missed recording Heroes, House, How I Met Your Mother, and The Big Bang Theory. So I'm having a bad HD night haha

I'm sure you can watch House and Heroes on Hulu by tomorrow (at least 3 hours of watching)
As far as the other two ... they'll probably be on there as well, but I'm not sure why you'd want to watch those anyway. Or is it against the "bro-code" to skip them?

I like your TV choices! House and Heroes were both 2 Hours which I did not learn until just before 8pm. Had me scrambling to get the dvr in the other room set up to record HIMYM and Big Bang Theory. Luckily I was able to get all of them though :)

Looking forward to FlashForward.
Not sure why ... ABC probably will cancel it sometime in Season 2.
They canceled Pushing Daisies, afterall. Morons.

I went through my Shaw HD-PVR Guide and set up all of my recordings for this week. It's ridiculous! I've got 2 tuners and I have both the Eastern and Western feeds. So for each prime time hour, I have 4 slots, effectively. I believe I made it all fit somehow, but it took some careful programming. What I absolutely hate most is when a show starts 30 seconds before the scheduled time or finishes 1-2 minutes late! Those small overlaps mean BIG headaches when I try to catch everything.
I'm actually really thankful for The Jay Leno Show. With that turd in the lineup, I can always set all of my 9pm shows to record a little bit long :D

The networks hate PVRs, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's intentional.

My Fall shows include House, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Fringe, The Office, Grey's Anatomy and Smallville (as well as Monk and Psych, but they have been on for a few weeks now).
Thursday nights are going to be difficult though, considering Fringe is now on at the same time as The Office and Grey's Anatomy, so one of those shows (Grey's if the wife allows it) will have to be skipped by the DVR and watched by an alternate method. Anyone know if the PS3's web browser can handle ABC.com's video player??

ABC finally got with the program and joined Hulu. As long as you can watch Hulu on your PS3, then you're set.
Vic @ Sep 22nd 2009 4:43PM
Unfortunately, Hulu disabled their functionality on the PS3's web browser, so that does me no good. I'll have to check ABC.com tonight after work on the PS3. Hopefully it works.

Ben, Good thing you didn't watch the season premiere of House this season. Not a single diagnosis mystery but one of the best episodes ever. At least you love Big Bang. And Richard I am with you on Castle. Nathan Fillion is the best.
mr.gabriel.serna @ Sep 23rd 2009 5:24PM
Anybody else watch Supernatural on the CW. That and House are pretty much all I'm interested in seeing week in and out. The Mentalist is good but if i miss it I don't mind, same with Big Bang Theory

that's why I love my Tivo, still had my season passes from last year, only had to add a couple new ones.
