With all the buzz lately about whole-house DVR, I wonder why we aren't hearing more about IPTV lately. Was there anything on this at CEDIA? I seem to recall a while ago that Verizon said their on-demand was going to be available to subscribers online, but it seems to me that if they and the other cable companies would add an IPTV pathway then we'd be able to ignore all this Tru2Way and CableCARD nonsense in favor of a Netflix watch-instantly-style on-demand system.

Considering that Ceton is now coming up with these wonderful new tuners and looks like AMD might be going out of the TV tuner business, should I wait or should I go ahead and get an ATI TV wonder from AMD? I am a new user just getting into the Media center experience and am in the process of getting all the components I need to make this whole thing work.
