Dallas Cowboys HD scoreboard hanging too low?
It's not necessarily on the level of Yankee Stadium's jetstream, but the new Dallas Cowboys stadium has its own problems. The massive HDTV strung up over the field was hit by a punt during the first NFL game played there last night. So far, by the rules that will result in a do-over, while owner Jerry Jones says there are no plans to move the screen and he doubts anyone will hit it during the regular season. Check the video evidence embedded after the break, somehow we doubt this is the last time this happens.

Like a golfer with tree trouble, the ball should be in play. Force the punter to kick a lower ball or suffer the fate of having the ball boomerang. I like it! Play on!

The board height was tested before the season and the NFL approved the height stating that 85' was what they had to meet. The height was exceeded. Its costs $2 million to raise it and $6 million to put in the permanent system the Cowboys are putting in. That will be ready by October. If the NFL wants it raised right now, they should pay for it. They approved it.

I think he was trying to hit it with a nice pitching wedge punt. Preseason game.....won't happen in regular season.

There really is no Yankee Stadium jet stream. They changed the design and depth of the walls in right/right center fields, leading to more home runs being hit.

Anyhow, I do hope they raise the screen at Cowboys Stadium. It's hard to believe that something that happened in the first preseason game at the stadium will never happen again, even if the Titans punter was trying to hit the screen, as the Cowboys owner and coach both claim.

Sports radio in the Dallas area says the board will be raised in October . Guess teams will just have to put up with it until then .
