Roku Video player now streaming live HD baseball games from MLB.TV
We've always loved the Roku Video Player, and it's getting even more flexible over time -- in addition to Netflix and Amazon video rentals, the $99 box can now play, pause, and rewind live HD baseball games in 720p from MLB.TV, as well as play archived games from the previous week on demand. You'll have to pay the one-time MLB.TV subscription fee of $35, but that's not terrible, especially if you're an out-of-market fan looking to catch your favorite team without having to trek out to a bar. Now if only the NFL would let anyone but DirecTV carry Sunday Ticket, we'd be all set.

This makes this box look very tempting eventhough I have a 360 If they do this next year for same price it will be worth it.

I am not a MLB fan, but this is an awesome deal!

Its only $35 for the rest of the current season. Yearly rates are over $100 for MLB.tv IIRC.
Now if only they could add NFL Sunday Ticket and I'd buy 6 Rokus.

Thanks for clarifying. I couldn't tell if they were saying it was $35/year or if that was a one-time fee that covered you forever. I knew that sounded way too cheap.
I'm a baseball fan, but I just don't love it enough to watch out of market games. Living in NJ, I get all the Mets (my fav team) and Yankees games already, plus a ton of White Sox and Cubs games on WGN HD, as well as a ton (maybe all... not sure) of Braves games on TBS HD. On top of that, I get all the extra games that ESPN HD or ESPN2 HD play. The point is that I already get more MLB games than I care for, so I don't need to get more.
I'd also kill for the same option if it was the NFL. I just have no desire to switch to DirecTV when I have FiOS, so I wish they could figure out some other way for the games to available... in HD, of course.
By the way, don't you just love the comment system here? I love how I have to submit everything 3 or 4 times before it actually goes through. How unique!

FYI, Roku also added 5.1 audio capability to Amazon.

Amen on the DTV comments. I'd pay $200 for Sunday Ticket and no Directv/cable TV. Really, really despise that I must get any TV channels to watch Sunday Ticket.
