Is FIOS rolling out bigtime in CT? Or is CT going all digital soon?
If both answers are no, then all of New England better get these channels or ill be rip.
Michael @ Aug 17th 2009 10:23AM
I don't know about Fios but the reason why Comcast is adding more HD channels in Connecticut on September 1st is because that will start to go digital on August 25th. Currently Expanded Basic will move to the digital tier, so regular Basic will still be in Analog format.

"Comcast adding History, CNN, USA, Discovery, Animal Planet, AMC in New Jersey." Any info on which areas in New Jersey are getting this add?
Thanks.

And another week goes by with no new national channels on DirecTV. Didn't they used to lead this?
Stefan @ Jul 28th 2009 3:31PM
I agree. I'm a DirecTV fan to the core, but we seem to be getting nothing new when it comes to HD. It's really making me sad...like on the verge of tears....like...seriously...(sniff)....oh god i gotta go!!!

Finally saw HBO programing in Comcast's HD on demand.

Any word on what regions of CT on September 1st. Hopefully it's the Groton, CT network. We are only getting 10 HD channels. Very primative.
Michael @ Aug 17th 2009 10:21AM
I was the Michael that sent in the tip, I don't know about Groton but Burlington (near Bristol) will be getting those channels
Paco @ Jul 28th 2009 2:23PM
I have been wating for 2 years for SciFi , or SyFy now, HD from comcast. While the two comcast providers adjacent to me have had it the whole time. Thanks Cherry Hill - Comcast of Garden State. :/

...ESPNU is a sports channel that sometimes is the only way for Gonzaga University basketball fans to watch some games...

I'm in Atlanta and I just got 38 new HD channels with Comcast:
WGN america, We, Planet Green, Biography, QVC, ESPN News, CBS College Sports, Big Ten Network, BET, CMT, E!, Style, FOX Business News, The Weather Channel, CNBC, Fox News, FX, VH1, MTV, Lifetime, Travel Channel, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney XD, Comedy Central, TVOne, Bravo, Fuse, Speed, G4, Spike, NHL Network, NBA TV, MGM, Hallmark Movie Channel, Lifetime Movie Network (LMN), Independent Film Channel (IFC), Encore.
I might be wrong about some of these being new here. Maybe I just didn't notice them before.
WVUfanMG @ Aug 19th 2009 11:05PM
Where in the ATL do you live? I have comcast and haven't gotten most of those, especially Spike, FX, and ESPN News...hmmm.
Dave @ Jul 29th 2009 2:23AM
The reason why Direct TV has not launched any new channels is because they don't have any more room. Direct TV is launching a new satellite in September that will bring 80 new HD channels.
Toni @ Jul 29th 2009 4:32PM
HWell, the picture you added to the artcile is a list of channels of some hungarian provider.
A lot of Hungarian channels are on it. None of them HD I think...
Michael @ Sep 1st 2009 7:16AM
Not all of the 16 promised hd channels came in, including
G4 HD
MTV HD
VH1 HD
Comedy Central HD
The Weather Channel HD (which is now pushed back to October 6th)
and TV One HD
Leave it to Comcast to promise 16 and give us 10
Michael @ Sep 2nd 2009 11:43PM
Correction 5 have been added so far The Weather Channel is the only one not yet and that has already been delayed to October 6th
