I had this idea about a year ago. A Comcast higher up rep from York PA called me back and really loved the extended rental idea. She sent me 5 free VOD coupons in the mail for my feedback. I'm glad theres finally some leway here.
With Blockbuster or Netflix you can keep the movie as long as you want. With traditional store rentals you keep the movie for sometimes up to a week. Makes sense for Cable to extend their rental time. They are competing so might as well get on the same playing field.
