Waiting for the next big
3D release to come home? Universal has slotted
Coraline for July 21, with a 3D and 2D version included in the 2 disc set, along with four pairs of 3D glasses. Extra features like
U-control and Digital Copy are 2D only, but with 5.1 DTS-HD MA soundtrack and
D-BOX Motion Code included, it's hard to see anything this release is missing. Of course, it could be proper stereoscopic 3D instead of anaglyph, but until those 3D HDTVs gain wider adoption, we guess this will have to do.

This was one film that really did 3D right. It doesn't cheese the audience with a bunch of "whoa, flying right at you!" junk effects, it simply renders the entirety of every scene with an amazing 3D pop that makes you feel like you're actually watching the models and sets come to life in person. It's also an engaging film worth watching in its own right.

As someone w/the Mitsubishi TV that has 3D already 'in' it: is there any way to utilize this 3D in this TV?

Unfortunately no, not until they release these movies in stereoscopic. Which is a real shame for us 3d people. I have a passive polarized system set up (so it uses the RealD type glasses instead of shutters like on DLP and LCD screens), but so far only video games make use out of it.

@ Eric, can I come over?

Wait, so you need a special TV if you ever want to watch non-anaglyph stereo?

Am I correct that all these 3D movies being pumped out, will not be viewable according to the directors vision?
I was planning to buy a Panasonic plasma this summer. Are there 3D models coming this year? Should I wait to buy?
