I don't understand why you run a poll and then leave out a perfectly respectable choice: Saw it in the theatre on film and it was just fine.
If nothing was shot in IMAX then seeing it in IMAX is sort of a waste of time and several bucks on the ticket price, unless you're just into big and loud.
DLP should be best because I'll assume the movie was finished in the digital domain, and output directly to video as well as film and would probably wind up looking a bit sharper than film, just because of the processing and the generational thing.
Going to see it this week and I'll find a DLP theatre for my viewing peasure.
Was thinking the same thing. Saw Star Trek in a theater this weekend, and it's certainly worth seeing on the big screen, as most big budget summer movies are.... It has a great visual style.
As far as DLP, I'm assuming if the theater doesn't mention it, they're not using it, although my theater is pretty new, and I know they have digital technology, but as far as what they're using exactly, I couldn't tell you.
Regarding IMAX, the closest IMAX is a couple of hours away, so it's not like it's an easy choice for some of us.
But anyway, this is one of the movies that plays well on the big screen.
