i thought AVR suppose to to do the decoding and suppose to have better audio decoding so why do we need the bluray player to do the decoding? just one question and besides the ease of use of the menu and fast load does this player really worth 499$?
Not all AVR either have HDMI inputs or even support for the newer codecs. Plus it could come down to which one has better chips for decoding and converting it, It is just a feature for higher end Blu-ray players, which this is.
