BSG: Complete Series Blu-ray set official specs: 20 discs, BD-Live, July 28
Finally, Universal has confirmed the rumors that Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series will arrive on Blu-ray July 28, packing the previously noted $349 MSRP for the 20 disc set. There's plenty of exclusive Blu-ray features planned, with U-control, DTS-HD MA soundtrack, an interactive guide to the ships and characters from the series, a BD-Live powered "Ultimate Battle" game, look behind the scenes with composer Bear McCreary and more. Not mentioned? Whether or not all that cash can buy a slightly better case design this time around.[Via TheHDRoom]

Amazon has it for $244.99 preorder ..

That's kind of reasonable in hollywood's world of pricing. Each Star Trek series on DVD was in Canada originally about $109.99 when they first came out. Even the TOS seasons. Battlestar Galatica has 4 seasons, so 4x109.99 = $430.00 basically. So perhaps using that pricing range, $349.99 sounds not too bad. Although, most star trek episodes had 23 episodes where as Battlestar Galatica was more like 13 episodes per season. So really, I think charging the amazon pre-order price of $244.99 is about right comparatively.
Mind you, I still think $244.99 is alot of money and would find myself hard pressed between buying this tv series I have already watched in full over purchasing 10+ new blu-ray discs of movies I haven't seen before.

Especially insane, considering it's not really the complete series. "The Plan" is not included.

Very true. Why not just wait till The Plan airs so it can be the "complete" series. I didn't buy any of the seasons, only Razor. So now I can get this huge awesome box set and I'll have to get The Plan later. That doesn't make sense. I would say "complete" fail.

BSG was a great show, until season 4. They really dropped the ball, although the final 10 episodes were a little better.

i just finished watching BSG the new series...and for the most part i LOVED it. of course...the series seemed to have its writing ups and downs, just like just about any sci-fi show does (lost...and ESPECIALLY heroes, heroes got so bad i just stopped watching it entirely) but overall it was great. and literally the last 2 minutes of the season finale made it all worth while. Probably gonna watch the old series on hulu now.
