Plex Media Center for Mac adds Netflix streaming
OS X aficionados looking for a media center alternative to streaming Netflix movies through boxee can now look to Plex. The just launched app plugs into Plex's frontend and (with Silverlight) installed) adds a slick front end that compares well to, and may even best those offered by other Instant Watch hardware and apps, though we can't tell from these screens if users can add movies to the queue through it. We're hoping Microsoft picks up a designer or two from this team to upgrade the Xbox 360 frontend, but meanwhile we'll give the latest beta version (0.7.14) of Plex Media Center a shot.

Good for them. Maybe now the babies who whine about Plex not getting any press on Engadget every time there is an announcement about Boxee will shut the f up.

I'm a normal guy who is gone half of the month for work. I needed something that had enough horsepower to act as a media centre, yet "wife-friendly". Plex is that application. After a LOT of searching, I pretty much planned my whole media center around it, and it works like a champ!
The Plex creators and community provide an amazing home theater soloution that is unmatched in ease of setup, use , and connectivity...and it's FREE people! It's amazing how much talent these guys have (and it's all done in their spare time) and they are continually improving it!
It's about time they got some recognition!
For the flamers who will eventually have something negative to say: Until you write your own app that can do 1/100th of what plex does (and my wife can use), be quiet.

I am a Plex fan as well. I have a Mac Mini connected to my 42 inch plasma screen. I tried Boxee, and I have to say that I hate the interface. Plex works much better and they have never had any issues with Hulu. Anyone who hasn't tried Plex should give it a shot.

Can somebody make a Netflix streamer that supports PPC architecture or one that works on PS3? My $2,200 Dual 2.0 G5 is only 3 years old and can't play Netflix movies. Thanks Microsoft !! (Silvershit)

Why don't you blame Apple for making a 3 year old $2,200 fracking dollar Mac obsolete already?
No way this would happen, nor allowed, on the PC. The press and users would have a field day with it. But of course, with Apple, its par for the course, yet Apple users have this reality distortion field around them that blind them from the truth.
