DirecTV loading up multi-screen HD coverage of the 2009 Masters
As should be expected by now, DirecTV is readying its interactive TV prowess for the 2009 Masters Golf Tournament from April 9 -12. The Masters Mix channel serves up CBS Sports and ESPN content, along with plenty of leaderboards, hole by hole stats for each player, a trivia me and daily highlight packages for notable player on DirecTV On Demand. We're not seeing much different from last year's implementation (with the exception of a healthy, surgically repaired Tiger ready to take on the field), but we're open to suggestions about how the Masters Experience could get better in 2010.

DirecTV sucks.

They may suck, but I'll be watching excellent masters coverage in high definition while you're watching whatever it is that you watch that doesn't suck. Thank goodness for the service that sucks. Otherwise, I'd be stuck sucking my thumb watching some other service that doesn't suck.

Just wish they had HD mix channels all the time. 480x480i compressed SD mix channels don't have enough pixels.

Where's the love for the U-Verse app for the Master's?

This is one of the best Masters fields in recent memory. There are so many story lines and with Tiger coming off his first victory of the year, it could be another classic. Personally I hope Ernie Els wins his first Masters, he’s one of the best golfers who hasn’t worn the green jacket. I made a list on my site of who I think is the favorite to win this year: http://www.toptentopten.com/topten/2009+masters+favorites. You can vote which changes the rank of each golfer, and if you don’t agree with my picks you can add your own.
