High-end brands Anthem and SI officially tie the knot
It certainly didn't take long for US-based projector screen manufacturer SI and Canadian electronics provider Paradigm to make their new partnership official. The two high-end oriented companies unveiled their plans at CES, but Paradigm is now officially the worldwide distributor of SI's motorized, fixed and curved screens. Although sadly out of our own financial reach, this sounds like a good arrangement for the two companies as they look to provide one-stop shopping convenience for well-heeled HT buffs. With Paradigm speakers, Anthem electronics, Anthem-branded JVC projectors and SI screens in the mix, a tasy -- if expensive -- HT combo can definitely be cooked up.

While I didn't end up buying a Black Diamond screen, if they can get the higer gain version of it produced, I will certainly think about ditching my da lite hi power.

This is like Bill Gates marrying Oprah.
A weeding normal people cannot attend.
(only the rich may enter)

I would would not dismiss Paradigm products as being only for the rich and famous. Paradigm's niche is bang for your buck. Yes they are not mainstream, but they have many products that are priced just above that mainstream price point and perform far better.

To expand on what Jim said, Paradigm speakers can actually are very affordable, at least their entry level. If I remember correctly, Paradigm is main company with Anthem under their umbrella. The awesome thing about Paradigm is they pretty much do everything in house, from their speaker case to the actual speakers. They also do not, or at least in the past, had not bothered with certification. These two things passed the savings back to the customer, giving you more for your money. Just like companies like Outlaw and Emotiva to name two off hand.
Their speakers range to what I would consider as more than affordable to highendish expensive. They use to and may still have their cinema line, which in the past you could get a 5.1 system for $500 or so. I also feel that their monitor series is an exceptional value. I currently have speakers in their Studio line, but have been interested in their Reference line. I have heard their Reference line yet, but from the specs and I know of the company, I would put them on par with the B&W Nautilus 800 series I have always wanted.
I would consider Anthem their high end company, but Anthem doesn't make speakers and Paradigm doesn't make amp or processors. Paradigm only recently (the past 5 or so year) moved into what I would consider the high end speaker market with their Reference line, but Anthem doesn't have anything in even the mid end market for receivers, amps or processors.

Wow,..do all of you work for Taco Bell at minimum wage or something,...I own alot of Pardigm and Anthem avm 50 equipment and I'm far from being rich,...but this seems to be the excuse for Bose-a-philes to buy really bad equipment that really is overpriced and claim they had no other choice....only proving people think they're clever fancifying their words so they can change the meaning whenever it suit them....pretending to be alot smarter than they really are...you guys would like the site audio-asylum...they have cute little logons and slogans thinking dr amar bose is really a doctor and makes great speakers...probably a proctologist and fascinated by rear drivers and looked into the mirror and saw a Direct/Reflection of his brains....and people think thats technology...better crap through research....and toilet paper for drivers....
Gregory @ Apr 4th 2009 10:06AM
I can't stop laughing,....you poor people who work at taco bell...but you're right,...If I married Oprah I'd only allow people from McDonalds to attend our wedding....at least thats a weeding of you clever people on this site and you audio-phony-philes....ask eatingpie...he doesn't know what he's saying...

Does anybody else see whats going on in this country....Obama and the dumbass Democrats are bailing out the corrupt institutions to keep them going while they give each huge bonuses...while Obama thinks we should just bite the bullet....cutting taxes for the ones that barely pay any taxes...and increasing taxes and penalties for legitimate businesses that provide us our jobs....and now Democrats are feeling sorry for our enemies by accusing Republicans of torture....in the Special Forces I was waterboarded three times in SERE training...you think our enemies deserve better than Americans....we already gave our enemies Habeous Corpus...so now they have more rights than we do...and then we're supposed give jobs to our enemies in our country because if we send them back their own country they would probably really torture them for being caught....who cares?...You want to protect this country or give the axis of evil an invitation for milk and cookies and maybe they'll give us some important information....wake up people...

Paradigms are affordable unless you want the Signature line. I just bought a pair of Studio 100s v.4 for about $2,300. they are full 3 way floor standers. Now, that sounds like alot but after I added up what I paid for my crappy polk rt surround system with a entry level Velodyme sub it cost the same. Now after having both I must say that 2 great speakers kills a bunch of cheap speakers just to hear a little rear sound effects and now my music sounds 100 times better. You just cant get music right with small speakers and a sub, its always missing the fullness in the middle. Now the only problem is that they get a little expensive to power, they will play with the Box store stuff, Onkyo, Denon, sony, yamaha, ect but to get good audiophile music you need a good amp like the Anthem brand. I just bought a affordable Anthem Integrated 225 for $1,400 and it crushed my Onkyo 906 running bi-amped. 225 watts out of a Anthem is like 400 out of a box store receiver, just ask any audiophile at a specialized store, the highschool kids at Bestbuy wont know. I used a NAD 535 as my cd, sacd player, my PS3 was just too loud and you have to turn the TV on just to play music and navigate. Tried streaming also but that sucks more. You have to turn on a computer, then the PS3, then the TV, then the amp just to listen to low quality mp3s and you have all the back ground noise. Much better just to plug your i-pod directly into your amp.

Another Paradigm Studio customer here. Paradigm has a good range of well made, good sounding speakers. I used to power mine with an Acurus amp, but am currently using a Marantz and they sound as good as they did when I first got them probably 10 years ago (or more!).
