Linksys by Cisco PLTK300 Powerline kit is pretty, sluggish
And to think, this here box had so much promise. At first glance, it's easy to fall head over heels with the PLTK300 Powerline box. After all, it features a four-port adapter that easily manages game consoles, Blu-ray players, AV receivers, etc., and passes those signals along your home network via power wiring. The rub? It's based on the older 85Mbps standard and not the fresher, speedier 200Mbps protocol. In other words, you may see dropped frames and the like if trying to push too much HD through here at once. Ah well, at least that news makes the Asia-only availability that much easier to live with.
Update: So, these seem to be shipping now in the US. Huzzah! [Thanks, Dave!]

I don't think this is Asia-only... It's available to order on Dell.com's website: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Wireless_and_WiFi_Products/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=A2206598 and it's shipping now...

Also, the Linksys PLK300 sports 200mbps speeds which seems more like the adapters you're looking to get... Check them out here:

i'm using netgear's hdx101, I could surf internet in basement and my router is on second floor, consistent 300kb/s downstream which is the max of my adsl, and that's all I care, since wifi can't reach 2 floors down in the basement powerline is the best solution

200 year old house,l bought a set at the circuit city death spiral for
like $60 bucks new, unopened.
Kinda slick, saved me the trouble of trying to run ethernet upstairs and put in a switch.
No complaints on this at all.

I have this exactly model running through my condo and I push 3GB+ HD files from my bedroom to my plasma tv (hooked up to a Popcorn Hour A-100) in the living room with no problems whatsoever. Sluggish? Hardly. Frame drops? Maybe only 2% of the time.
It should be noted, that just because it says 200Mbps it won't push that much since the Ethernet ports are only 10/100 hence only 100Mbps TOPS.
But still a GREAT powerline product, highly recommended.

You can pick these up at Sam's Club for 150 right now. Actually, they've been on the shelves since November, so I'm a little surprised at you treating this like a new product.

85Mbps is not going to cause dropped frames, that's plenty fast.
