Predictably, some folks
aren't getting the same reception they used to now that analog broadcasts have (partially) shut off. An AP report featured in
USA Today cited stats showing half of the 25,000 calls to the FCC on February 18 were because of reception or antenna issues. As we've known, the effect of the digital cliff and obstructions can make continuing to receive OTA channels a dicey affair depending on where you live. Some have given in and subscribed to cable or satellite, while others are still experimenting with antenna placement, waiting for higher power broadcasts or tower moves, and some have just learned to live without it. Any
DTV tales of woe and/or triumph now that we're a couple of weeks past the first stage of the switch?

second to last i checked was during the olympics. reception was kinda crap. within the last month, i checked, and all of the locals were coming in perfectly (up from one or two). of course i'm in the middle of a city. but an interesting change, nonetheless.

Broadcasters are aware of the reception issues, but it will take time to resolve...be it waiting to go full power, moving their towers, or setting up a distributed transmisison system. It's in the broadcasters best interest to maximize the number of eyeballs that have access to their signals...not that the broadcast networks really have anything worth watching...thus they will work to resolve the issues over time.

I had some anntenna issues but realized I needed a special antenna that got High VHF signals to get Fox and NBC. After I got the right antenna it was smooth sailing. (Winegard 7694P)

Been lucky here so far, rabbit ears in the window and picking up OTA signals just fine for digital. Tried using a GE model from target and it was pretty bad for the results.
