I called Dish to move to TurboHD Bronze, but they said it's not available to existing customers until Sunday (2/1). Not sure why, but seems like a pretty good deal.
It sucks that they're raising rates, but even with that, its still a lot cheaper than Direct TV. My dad (who lives in the same city as I) has Direct TV and it costs him the same as what I pay. What I get above and beyond him is more channnels (not necessarily all of them are HD though) and I have a DVR which has two zones.
If it's a lot cheaper then why is your dad's package cost the same as yours but he has more HD channels?? Directv might be a little higher (didn't check), but probably not by much.

I'm glad i have Dish Network... I just wish they'd start releasing the HD channels they announced last October! (Fox News HD???)
