South Florida's WSVN converts newscasts to high-definition
South Florida's NBC 6 became the first English-language network in the area to take its newscasts to high-def, but now those who refuse to watch news in SD finally have another choice. Starting this week, WSVN -- the FOX affiliate in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale market -- will be airing its local news broadcasts in greater clarity, and now that this station has hopped on board, we reckon the outcasts will be following suit in short order.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Two out of four...still waiting for CBS and ABC to have HD local news.

Is it me, or does WSVN remind you of the movie Chase?
Travis @ Jan 12th 2009 12:59PM
How could a market as large as Miami's just now get only a second HD news choice?

Of what possible consequence is this to America?
I hear Bush dressed himself before the press conference
too. Why not add that?

Phil does not realize that Miami is the center of the universe.
Also, West Palm Beach Channel 5 was quicker than NBC 6, but where are you drawing the line. Orlando is more up to date than either.

actually... it's seems not 100% hd yet.... everything in studio does.... but all the remotes seem like cropped sd... BAD quality sd.... but that was on day 1... let's see how it is tonight.

yes, Miami is one of the big five markets. I can't get FOX over the air.
But I get NBC6 OTA and it's 1080i.
does anyone get it? is it 7.1 or 8.1 ?
