AT&T hasn't made it official or anything, but one particular
U-verse user in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is already enjoying the spoils of
Total Home DVR. That's right -- Milwaukee residents subscribed to the provider's fiber-based TV service can now check out recorded programs on any connected TV, not just the main set in the den. Let us know if AT&T drops the new software in your locale, it's been pretty busy of late rolling it out.
[Thanks, Ryan]

We have it in Indianapolis too. My roomate and I just called and ordered a package after we received a flier in the mail offering the total home DVR service.

Just had U-Verse installed Saturday here in Houston. The Total Home DVR is already available here but the install tech told me very soon I'll also be able to record directly from every box as well. The one gripe I have so far is you can only rewind a live show you are watching if you are watching the DVR enabled box.

You can pause and resume on any tv though correct?

I'm in Milwaukee as well and just got the push on Friday. It's works incredible well and the playback and response on the sattelite units is just as fast as on the main DVR. The current implementation only allows you to watch pre-dvr'd content on the other systems. You are yet to be able to pause live tv on any system other than the main DVR box.

Just got it two days ago here in Indianapolis. I reset my DVR to see if the software update was available yet and when the DVR booted, it asked if I wanted to download and install the available update.
You CAN watch recordings on any TV that were already scheduled and recorded (or recording) on your DVR. You can pause, stop, rew, ff, those recorded programs
You CANNOT schedule a recording on any TV, pause, stop, rew, ff live TV, etc. except on the DVR box.

Does the Total Home DVR use an OTA tuner for local HD channels, ala Dish or Directv? Or, are all signals only received over the UVerse internet connection?

No OTA tuners are in the DVR. I wish there were. 100% IPTV
