Stow resident here. I've been waiting for Verizon FIOS (internet) for several years now. The weird thing is, part of our town has FIOS, and part doesn't. The weirder thing is that I'm on the end of town that's nearest to the other town's CO that's providing verizon service, but the FAR end of town (away from the CO) seems to be the part that has it!
Go figger! So, I can't really tell if this even helps me, because if I can't get fios internet now, I likely won't be able to get fios TV. I've been very happy with DirecTV (love my two, dual tuner, hacked DriecTivos), and right now, there's no reason to change... because... um... errr... I still. don't. have. HD (there, I said it! Sorry, but milk, gas, and mortgage have sapped my budget for a 60" Kuro). When I finally join the 21st century, though, I'll have to re-evaluate my provider.
You DON'T HAVE HD? Blasphemy! Treachery! Heresy! Crazy talk!
You can get an HDTV for $400 these days. WTF are you waiting for!?
But yeah, if the fiber lines haven't been strung to your street yet (and based on what you're saying, it seems they haven't,) then you won't be able to get FiOS of any sort (internet, tv or phone.)
