Charter cable adding two high-def stations in the St. Louis area
One of our readers, Mark from St. Louis, woke to a surprise this morning. There was a message on his digital cable box indicating that Charter was adding two new high-def stations on July 18th - TNT-HD and MHD. We are happy for our St. Louis readers. TNT-HD is a nice station even though they play a bunch of up-converted SD stuff, but they are invaluable during the NBA playoffs. MHD is MTV's new high-def station that from what we hear, we don't have it in our areas yet, plays music. Yeah, we know; kind of shocking. Enjoy 'em folks and cable companies, keep 'em coming.

I saw that these two channels were added to the guide last week but they said Not In Service. I saw my message indicator light up over the weekend but I haven't read it yet. The real question is, what HD package do I need to have in order to view these?

Our Charter (Up in Wisconsin) already has TNT-HD. Hopefully MHD being added in St. Louis is a sign of things to come for Charter up here.

Up in Wisconsin? I am happy for you (for TNT-HD and Nascar) but here in Southern Minnesota we don't even have TNT-HD let alone MHD. So here is hoping out local affiliate catchs the drift and gets there act together.
Thanks for the update Matt

Recently our local cable provider (Cox) was bought out or subsidized whatever they do these days by Suddenlink. This change was greeted with small changes to our HD lineup. We lost INHDs and were replaced by the HDNets. I miss INHDs baseball coverage and Sunday MoJo lineup however I've recently discovered a yoga show with 3 very flexible women (hooray for waking up early).
My area is (Bryan/College Station) primarily composed of college students (like myself), now if you guys will excuse me my noodles are done, and my 37" set is tuned to ESPN-HD (we sacrifice where we have to).
